When Jamie Ward was in the hospital as a child, she made a point to give gifts brought by family and friends to other patients. Today, she continues this practice through a nonprofit called Jamie’s Dream Team. Ward, 34, of Trafford, was diagnosed with a rare condition called VATER Syndrome

That walk was a long time coming.
“It is a daily struggle. He crawls everywhere. He doesn’t get up and walk. The daily skills are just such hard work for him, but we’re doing it,” said Carson’s mom, Ashley.
Carson, who will turn five years old Tuesday, is a brain cancer survivor.
He’s already gone through two surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation.
“It’s going to be hard, but he has a full life ahead of him. We want him to be the best that he can be. So, we’re just going to keep pushing for it,”
