New brewery launches in the Lake District - hereâs when their first beers will go on sale

Named the Lakes Brew Co, its founders Matt Clarke, Michelle Gay, Steve Ricketts and Paul Sheldon, are an award-winning team that have previous experience at Hawkshead Brewery, BrewDog and Heineken UK. Following the challenges of the pandemic, they have now reunited to create a new ‘progressive and innovative’ brewery focused on an ethos of support and collaboration.

Top wills qualification for Kendal solicitor
A solicitor at Kendal-based law firm Napthens has qualified with the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners.
Georgina Smith has gained what is considered the top professional qualification for a wills, trusts and probate solicitor with the society – a worldwide professional body that promotes high professional standards and education for its members.
Jamie Allison, head of Cumbria at Napthens, said: âGeorgina is a key member of our team here in Cumbria and we are delighted to see her become a full member of STEP.
“She has worked hard to achieve this qualification which confirms her expertise, and level of professionalism and care for her clients in this important, and often sensitive, line of work.â
