The Eller College of Management will hold a renaming ceremony for its School of Accountancy.
The Dhaliwal-Reidy School of Accountancy will be officially unveiled at 5:30 p.m., Friday, May 21, 1130 E. Helen St. on the University of Arizona campus, according to a news release. The name honors the legacies of Dan Dhaliwal, who received his masterâs and doctoral degrees in accounting at UA, and longtime alumni and donors James Reidy and his wife, Virginia Reidy. The name change took place in the fall, but the ceremony was postponed because of COVID concerns.

Last year, a member of the Bridgewater firefighters union was suffering from stage 4 cancer, which prompted the union to seek fundraising through the Firefighters Local 2611 ice hockey team.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the efforts were halted, but now with another prominent case of cancer in the community this time two in the same household with Richie and Lindsey McQuade Bridgewater Firefighters Local 2611 said it is hoping to do its part to help out. We are excited about it, Lindsey McQuade said about the fundraiser. It s been crazy the support we ve been getting. It s been overwhelming.
The McQuade family has only been living in Bridgewater for a year, but said they have felt supported by the community during this trying time.

Around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, Rachelle Gallagher went into labor at the Burger King on Route 24 in Bridgewater.
Roughly 20 minutes later, with the help of three firefighters in the back of an ambulance, Gallagher’s son, Gavin DeLon, was born. The newborn boy clocked in at 4 pounds and 4 ounces, according to the Bridgewater Fire Department.
