Robert Harold Midkiff, 79, Pikeville, was ushered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 30, 2021, while surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 20, 1941, into the family of John Frank Midkiff and Dora Ethel Cutler Midkiff. Proudly serving his country and fellowman in the United States Air Force, Bob retired after 21 years of service in special operations, and attained the rank of master sergeant. Bob served on the AC-130 Gunships Spectre in Vietnam and Thailand. Following his military career, Bob continued to work for 14 years with Goldtex. Bob was a member of the American Legion, and always strived to live out its motto, “For God and Country.”
