James Kimble named full-time police chief of Put-in-Bay

PUT-IN-BAY - After having served in the role on an interim basis for the past 10 months, Put-in-Bay Police Chief James Kimble was officially named to the full-time position this week. On Tuesday, Put-in-Bay village council members voted to approve hiring Kimble following the recommendation of Mayor Jessica Dress. “I’m thankful and blessed to be accepted by this community and take on this role as chief,” Kimble said. “I’m new to the community. I wasn’t born and raised here. But coming in from the outside, it’s been open arms from the community. They welcomed me and people made it clear they wanted to see me stay.”
