Saginaw firefighters quell blaze at boarded-up South Side duplex

SAGINAW, MI Saginaw firefighters quelled an early morning fire of a vacant duplex on the city’s South Side.
Around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14, a police vehicle on patrol noticed flames coming from the recently boarded-up duplex at 409/411 Gallagher St., said Saginaw Fire Department Battalion Chief James Champney. Police called in the fire and crews were dispatched at 4:04 a.m.
“The rear unit was on fire,” Champney said. “When we arrived, there was fire coming through the roof of the unit.”
