Two people die in fiery Visalia crash

Two people died in a fiery crash early Saturday morning, according to Visalia police.  Around 1 a.m., officers were called to Walnut Avenue and Linwood Street for reports of a single-vehicle crash. When officers arrived, they saw the vehicle had slammed into a power pole and was engulfed in flames.  Inside the burning car were two people, Agent Jake Sorensen said. The driver and passenger died in the blaze. Police believe a 2005 Infinity G35 was westbound on Walnut when the driver veered off the roadway and slammed into the power pole. The car was mangled in the wreck. Speed is a factor in the crash, according to investigators. The victims haven t been identified. Police could use autopsy and medical records to check if alcohol or drugs were a factor.
