MOKANE, Mo. New Bloomfield freshman Addison Baker won the 400-meter dash and was the lead runner in the Lady Wildcats first-place 4x400 relay team in the South Callaway HS Invitational Thursday at South Callaway High School.
Outside of the weather conditions, it was another good day for area athletes Saturday in Day 2 of the Class 2 track and field state championships at Adkins Stadium as five athletes received all-state honors by reaching the podium in their respective events.
Second place in the boys 3,200-meter run wasn’t so bad for New Bloomfield’s Nathan Hinrichs. It helped the state champion beat him with a meet-record time. Hinrichs clocked a runner-up time of 9:46.59 on Friday in the 3,200 at the Class 2 track and field state championships at Adkins Stadium. He trailed only New Covenant Academy’s Tanner Talley, who blazed by the competition with a record time of 9:15.11.
