WBBJ TV February 25, 2021 WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News has an alert for drivers if your destination takes you near the Ballpark at Jackson. Jackson police were called to the area of Ridgecrest Road Extended,  between Watson Road and Highway 70, Thursday evening. They were blocking traffic after an area of the road was discovered buckling and turning into a sink hole. There was a concern this could cause serious damage to vehicles. Officials say the Jackson Street Department was called in to work on the road. Police turned the roadway into one lane on both sides of the street. No word on when the repairs will be complete.

Officials update road conditions as second round of snow begins

WBBJ TV February 17, 2021 JACKSON, Tenn. Nichole Lawrence with the Tennessee Department of Transportation gave a quick list of roads on Wednesday that TDOT will be focusing on as the next line of snow comes through West Tennessee. “Whether that’s 412, 45, US-70, different routes like that are some that we are still working on,” Lawrence said. Conditions on those roads will likely worsen over the next couple days with snow forecast through the rest of Wednesday night and into Thursday morning. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News reporter Clint Eiland went to Carroll County today, where many side roads were still covered in snow.

Officials face heavy snowfall working to clear roads in Jackson-Madison Co. February 15, 2021 JACKSON, Tenn. When you woke up this morning, you probably realized the roads were already bad, even though there was only a half inch of snow on the ground. “With the rate it’s coming down, we’re not making a whole lot of headway. But, every little bit helps,” said Bart Walls, superintendent of the Madison County Highway Department. But the Madison County Highway Department and City of Jackson Street Department are working around the clock to keep up. “We’ve been working all night and all day,” said Percy Jones, director of the Jackson Street Department.
