The Jefferson County commissioners discussed the American Rescue Plan, a federal COVID-19 relief effort at last week’s meeting.
According to the Punxsy Spirit, commission chair, Jack Matson, said the county has been waiting for funds from the state and federal governments but has not received the funds yet. Commissioner Jeff Pisarcik noted that the money is not coming from the county.
Matson said some preliminary plans have been made regarding how to best use the funds but they have to see how they’re permitted to spend it first noting the rules and regulations that came along with the CARES Act.
