Much has been made, rightfully so, about President Joe Biden s decision to eliminate up to $20,000 in existing student loan debt for millions of borrowers. His plan relieves $10,000 per borrower making $125,000 or less and $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients under the same income threshold. The cost of the program, something Republicans and even some Democrats have noted, could reach as high as $230 billion.
Over this past year, the Taliban have broken their promises to allow girls to continue their schooling and women to keep their jobs. Many girls and women are disappearing arrested for violating the morality code, or abducted and forced to marry one of the Taliban. We talk with British/Iranian journalist Ramita Navai, who went undercover to speak to women who were victimized by the Taliban, and women working underground to help women escape brutality.
