Image: Henrietta Hassinen / Yle About 40 percent of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are in a worse economic position than they were a year ago, according to a survey carried out by the polling company Taloustutkimus. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment said the results of the survey were more positive, however, than those recorded in last autumn s survey. 23 percent of SMEs surveyed said they expected business conditions to improve over the next 12 months, while 26 percent expected conditions to deteriorate further.
