that russia is going to pay a price. and that s why it s important to implement these sanctions on exports. i would go ahead and put the s.w.i.f.t. system you know, get him off of the s.w.i.f.t. financial system. i think right now we have to make very clear that russia is going to become isolated from the global world because of what putin is doing with this invasion. he s got to feel it back in russia. that s the key. this isn t a question of making him feel it in the ukraine. he s got to feel it back in russia. and if he does, that is probably the best home that he wakes up and understands what a terrible mistake he s made. in a few minutes, the president is going to tell us what he s going to do, tell us what happens what potential options there. does he also need to prepare the country that putin s not going to go away quitely? and if putin feels pain in russia, he s going to try to
vladimir putin to this point. what is going to stop him? how and when does this end? do you see him trying to go beyond ukraine? a second question i will give to you now, the statement that he gave last night the threat that the west will face consequences greater than any you have faced in history. is he threatening a nuclear strike? i have no idea what he s threatening. i know what he has done. number one. number two, nobody expected the sanctions to prevent anything from happening. it has this is going to take time. we have to show resolve, so he knows what s coming. the people of russia will know what he s brought on them. that s what this is all about. this is going to take time. this is not going to occur and he s going to say, oh, my god, these sanctions are coming, i will stand down. he will test the resolve of the west to see if we stand together and we will, and it will impose significant costs on him.
