fetterman versus oz? is fetterman going to get enough support out of philadelphia and those suburban collar counties? absolutely, but first of all, we can take the lady out of philadelphia but you can t take the philadelphia out of the lady. i m with you. i m all in. thank you. critical game tonight. yep. it will be fun. i think that without question, fetterman will be fine. he ll get an extremely large vote out of the city of philadelphia which will carry some of the collar counties and counties out west to get enough for him to defeat oz. you know, he had a little issue. he had a little stroke and it showed in the debate, but he s a fighter and we re a fighter and we re fighters and we re going to continue fighting for him. he has good issues. the main thing our wizard of oz is saying, i got a daughter, a wife, a granddaughter and god
staccato halting manner. and that s expected. yeah. that is expected. you know, kudos to dr. oz for agreeing to this. i think the fetterman camp was didn t bend enough. it should be an hour and a half long. not because there s going to be so many spaces between questions and answers. it s not going to be a true one hour of vigorous debate. this is a very serious time. there are very serious issues. and this is not something that the voters want. they want to see a contrast about where either one of these men want to take the state going forward. brian: real clear average has fetterman up barely just by two points. this used to be a double dignity deficit for dr. oz. how has he closed the gap or is fetterman s performance closed the gap?
talking point. the pittsburgh post gazette, washington post and others have called for him to be transparent about his health issues. he was asked in the msnbc interview if he s been transparent and why he hasn t released his medical records. he said his doctors say i m fine. so we have to take his word for it. why not put your doctors out to talk to him. they have not done that. that transparency issue is coming to bear in the final weeks of the campaign. laura: this is fetterman s wife again, gisele. this is in may on the kind of campaign that they expected and would run. watch. i think his argument has been about our experience, right? what he has accomplished, what he cares about and what he views. he s never been about attacking other opponents. it s been about his record and his vision for the state. that s what we ll continue to see. we believe in running kind, clean campaigns that focus on the issues and not on who our
fetterman s health has been the focal point of his conscientious face-off with dr. mehmet oz. the latest on that race, hey, nate. yes, after suffering a stroke in may, fetterman is on the campaign trail and won t debate dr. oz until two weeks before election day and the conditions are up in the air and may threaten that entirely. fetterman is holding a rally in philadelphia right now. we have a live look at it and he s expect today take that stage momentarily and he s joined by democratic congressman dwight evans. this is a city where dr. oz has spent a lot of time recently. he held a crime round table here early this week, on monday. now, this is fetterman s first campaign stop in philadelphia. that led the philadelphia inquirer to ask why. dr. oz claims he has the answer, listen here. i m covering an area that mostly democrats should be covering because it s democratic voters. why don t they go there? because they re ashamed of their policies not working.
know someone who has a stroke. i think that s all part of their calculus. but pennsylvania is a very close state. i think this race is closer than maybe some of the polls might imply, and the more that oz kind of pressures fetterman on this, the more that oz is out there on the trail, it could be a tough thing to run away from for fetterman. yeah, and in fact, i was wondering about that. is fetterman rejecting the debate because he thinks that oz has been nasty about his health, or because he is having word-finding difficulties and auditory processing difficulties after his stroke? the campaign has basically said it s both. for the first time they ve really publicly said, you know, look, he had this stroke, may 13th, and there are lingering language issues. he sometimes has trouble understanding some words or sometimes mixes up some words. i have followed him on the campaign trail and that s
