Doha: Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council (SJC) and President of the Court of Cassation H E Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Hassan Al Mohannadi has stressed the State of Qatar and its judiciary’s commitment to enhancing the role of women in the judicial field, due to the important role that plays in achieving the sustainable development goals.
This came in a speech by Al Mohannadi at the International Association of Women Judges 15th International Biennial Conference held virtually in New Zealand.

New York: The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared in a resolution adopted by consensus that March 10 of every year will be International Day of Women Judges due to the initiative of the State of Qatar.
Before the resolution was adopted, 72 countries joined the sponsorship and adoption of the draft resolution, including a number of Arab countries, namely the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Kuwait, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Jordan, Lebanon, Mauritania and South Sudan.
