Asexuality: The ascent of the invisible sexual orientation By Jessica Klein11th May 2021 Long in the shadows, asexuality is finally becoming increasingly visible. It could help young people find themselves and their identities, and change the way we think about sexuality. I In a live video stream on 6 April, UK-based model and asexual activist Yasmin Benoit moderated a panel featuring participants from Belgium, Brazil, Vietnam, Pakistan, Nepal and Nigeria. "They Ask Me What's Better Than Sex, I Tell Them World Domination"

Flickr The current black, gray, white and purple-striped flag was created for the asexual community in 2010. Asexuality has often been left out of media representation and conversations about sexuality. But activists and community members have been raising awareness for decades.and adding nuance to our understanding of romance, sex and relationships. And the fact that not every relationship involves sexual attraction is something asexuality activists and community members have been raising awareness about for decades. On April 6, the world celebrated the first International Asexuality Day. It highlighted efforts to broaden understandings of sex, romance and the relationships that fulfill us.

Celebrating International Asexuality Day, explained

LGBTQIA+ Pride: What is International Asexuality Day? An asexual – or ace – person is someone who experiences “the lack of a sexual attraction or desire for other people.” Author: Kandace Redd Updated: 8:12 PM PDT April 6, 2021 SACRAMENTO, Calif. For the first time, International Asexuality Day (IAD) will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.  It’s a worldwide awareness campaign focused on recognizing the full  asexual spectrum. That includes asexual, greysexual, demisexual and all other ace identities. The campaign is also geared towards promoting ace visibility and giving a voice to a group of people who often get overlooked – or misunderstood. According to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), a non-profit on a mission to end discrimination against LGBTQ people, an asexual – or ace – person is someone who experiences “the lack of a sexual attraction or desire for other people.” Data from The Trevor Project s 2020 Natio
