LOUISVILLE, Ky. Days before protesters are expected to gather to honor Breonna Taylor s memory, her mother filed six new complaints against Louisville Metro Police officers.
The complaints, filed with the department s Professional Standards Unit earlier this week, seek investigations into whether departmental policies were violated in the course of the investigation that led police to Taylor s door on March 13, 2020, during the botched search warrant execution and in the subsequent departmental probe.
Among the allegations:
Not properly wearing body cameras;
Faulty surveillance;
Moving critical evidence ; and
Lingering at the crime scene or leaving without peer support.
Louisville police officials issued a statement, saying the department places the highest priority on conducting thorough and impartial investigations, and the complaints received from Ms. Palmer’s attorney are no exception.

Also, Chief Yvette Gentry sent a termination letter Tuesday to the officer who fired the fatal shot killing Taylor on March 13.Â
In a letter, Gentry notified Detective Joshua Jaynes of her intent to fire him for breaching Louisville Metro Police Department policies on truthfulness and search warrant preparations.
Thomas Clay, Jaynes attorney, said he and Jaynes will appear at a Thursday administrative hearing to contest his proposed firing.

According to multiple news outlets, Louisville police detective Joshua Jaynes and officer Myles Cosgrove will reportedly be fired Tuesday after being served pre-termination letters following an investigation into the Breonna Taylor shooting.
Jaynes was reportedly served for reportedly lying on a search warrant that was used to raid the apartment of Breonna Taylor WDRB reported.
According to The Courier-Journal and WAVE, Cosgrove was also served termination papers. According to the Courier-Journal s Tessa Duvall, Cosgrove is who the FBI concluded fired the shot that killed Taylor.
