He cofounded the world war i Memorial Foundation. This led to the advocacy of a National World war i memorial on the mall. Of 2013, he was appointed by harry reid to the u. S. World war i centennial commission. He was elected vice chairman of the commission in july of 2014. [applause] the conference last year, you know, i circumstances conspired so that i was a fleeting head on the screen and im very pleased this morning to actually be present and projecting images of prisoner of war camps and military prisons on the screen instead of me. Nine years. A lot of friendships developed outside of Law Enforcement than prosecution, defense, of lot of friends that way. But i felt it was my job to do what i could as the victim.
