infiltration in k-12 schools. there is over $170 billion in the c.a.r.e.s. act, the american rescue plan, and other legislation that allocates funding as i said, almost $200 billion of funding for k-12 schools to make these kinds of infrastructure upgrades. but that has to be planned at the school district level. school districts need to assess their buildings, come up with infrastructure plans, work with vendors to do that. and then spend the money. and that is not an easy task for school districts to do. i will say this. you can buy hepa filters. they re not cheap, but they re also not astronomically expensive. they re not like getting a new car or something. you can order them online, you can put those in spaces. everyone who s running buildings should be looking into doing that, consulting with people that have expertise on this. thank you both. still ahead, the republican red scare wins out as a top

there will be inflation. we re already seeing some of it. but not much. and probably there is more down the road. and then what happened last night with the infrastructure bill, in that it passed? do you feel very hopeful about that, particularly because it alluded so many prior administrations. they tried to get infrastructure plans in place and now you ve got the passage of this one. how might this change the landscape in your view? i don t think it s going to change the landscape this year, next year or the year after or the year after that, won t change it very much. $1.2 trillion is a hell of a lot to you or me, but it is not a lot to an economy of this size and it will be spread out over a number of years. but it does add to the deficit. what we re doing, unfortunately, is adding to the deficit at a breathtaking, phenomenal, incredible rate. eventually, in one way or another, it has to be paid.

yeah, this is a celebratory moment for the white house and for president biden. we heard from him just a few hours ago in that speech really take a victory lap, and we expect him to continue to tout this bill as going forward into next week. he said already he had plans to visit some ports next week presumably those will be ports that will benefit from this bipartisan infrastructure bill, and we also expect the president to host a signing ceremony at some point in the coming days at the white house with republicans and democrats to really underscore the fact that this is a bipartisan win. president biden ran a campaign on promising to unite republicans and democrats to deliver on this so that s something that we expect the president to hold in the coming days. he also said that everyday americans were going to start feeling the impact of this bill in the coming weeks as projects begin hiring up people for these new infrastructure plans, and so he really framed this as a bill, as a pr

jon: house democrats are working on details of the biden s social spending and infrastructure bills tonight. they are still looking at tuesday for a potential vote on both of president biden s infrastructure plans, but will the president s own party be the biggest hurdle he faces in getting those two bills passed? kevin corke is in washington with more on that. kevin? the devil s in the details here in washington which is to say we simply don t know yet what adjustments democrats might make to try to boost the effort towards lifting the president s twin legislative priorities, but we do suspect that there will be a great deal of horse trading between now and tuesday to try to add things back on to the build back better plan, things like more immigration reform, tax hikes perhaps on billionaires, medicare expansion, longer paid leave, and more green energy

him one of the bill signing pens? look, yeah, i think you ve you obviously need to talk about these as a piece but why not take the opportunity to show that you could bring republicans together? do that in washington and go on the road and talk about the infrastructure plans. but then i think with build back better, i don t think there is a lot of knowledge outside of washington and people paying really close attention to this about what is in the bill. democrats are a little behind the eight ball. you have to talk about home health care and health care expansions and prekindergarten and go out there and do that for basically the next year. yeah, i think you want to talk about these with the same language and values. this is all about helping the middle class, trying to help people try to get to the middle class. working families, the wealthiest companies and individuals are paying for it so yeah, that s all under one umbrella. you want to have the opportunity
