The Metis Nation of Ontario is feeling positive as substantial investments were made in the recent federal budget that aligns with their goals.
MNO President Margaret Froh says programming support in one specific area will go a long way in improving the quality of life for Metis children and families across the province.
“An additional two and a half billion dollars committed to enhanced existing distinction-based approaches to indigenous early learning and child care, which is going to be huge,” says Froh.
She also welcomes Canada’s commitment to co-develop the Action Plan to implement legislation on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
