The sawdust has been flying at the MakerSpace workshop in Lincoln Park, as Kassie Helgerson and Mary Barney work to assemble the first of several yurts they hope will provide shelter for people experiencing homelessness this winter in Duluth.

There are openings on 14 Duluth boards and commissions, and the city is looking for new members.
Director of Administrative Services Chelsea Helmer said most boards or commissions meet once a month, and terms are typically 2-4 years. We have a wide range of options for people. And it s really about what are you interested in. What part of government, what part of your city are you interested in? Helmer said.
