Eight member of the English Learners Task Force appointed by the Boston School Committee resigned Tuesday morning in protest of parts of the new Inclusive Education Plan moving the majority of English Language Learners to General Education classrooms.
We leave pained but unable to endorse the compromised direction that Boston Public Schools has chosen. The current plan is incomprehensible in its ignorance of what constitutes optimal educational practice.
A long list of students flocked to join the growing number of critics of exam school admissions changes and plans to move to the O'Bryant School to West Roxbury. Both topics have been controversial touchpoints for parents, teachers and students.
