It was created by royal head chef mark flanagan. now it s time for a look at the weather with carol. hello again. yesterday we reached temperatures of 21.2 celsius in kinlochewe in the north of scotland. today the north of scotland, or the north west, certainly favoured for some higher temperatures. over the next few days the temperatures will slip. it s going to be mostly dry. there ll be some showers across parts of england and wales at times, but this keen easterly breeze coming in across a cold north sea really accentuating the cold feel along the north sea coastline. we ve also got various fronts coming in across england and wales introducing thicker cloud at times and also some showers. this afternoon we ve got cloud coming in from a weather front across southern counties. the odd light shower is possible, but move north of that there s a lot of dry weather and a fair bit of sunshine. it s not particularly windy, these white circles represent the average wind speeds, but we will
Spreading across all parts of the uk for tuesday, and it s a real turnaround of weather fortunes when you remember that, on saturday, new year s day, we had these kind of temperatures 16 in kinlochewe in the highlands of scotland. the drop in temperature s profound and, across the board, we re looking at highs of 4 in the highlands at best for tuesday. the colder air has already arrived in scotland as these northerly winds have pushed in. that colder air will reach all parts of the uk through tuesday. i say all parts but, actually, just ahead of the cold front as we start off tuesday morning, it ll still be relatively mild across the far south of england and wales, 6 or 7 degrees, but otherwise cold with a frost. now, across northern scotland, there will be some significant snow accumulations, with 2cm to 5cm, more than that over the highest mountains, mind you, and some very strong winds, particularly affecting orkney, where we could see gusts of 70 perhaps even 80mph towards the mi
