Kohima, Sep. 25 (EMN): The Western Chakhesang Students’ Union (WCSU) organised a one-day cultural programme on September 24 at Naga United Village in Chümoukedima district on the theme “Reviving culture and ethnicity.” An update from the union stated that, Imlibenla Wati Nienu, who graced the occasion as the guest speaker, has emphasised on the power of unity among the Nagas and how “our culture and ethnicity make us who we are.” “Our culture does not only mean the history of our tradition, folk songs and dances but is also about being honest, just and hardworking,” she said. She encouraged the youth to preserve and uphold those virtues and protect their culture. Zasekhoyi Ringa, general secretary of Western Chakhesang Hoho, also exhorted the students. While encouraging the students to learn multiple languages, he insisted that it is far more important to learn and speak one’s mother tongue to have an identity. Ringa stated that Chakhesangs have unique etho
