[File Photo/ANI] J-K Police advises protected persons to not venture out without PSOs after BJP Councillor killed in terror attack ANI | Updated: Jun 03, 2021 12:24 IST Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 3 (ANI):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar on Thursday issued an advisory for all the protected persons from going anywhere without personal security officers (PSOs) in the wake of the brutal killing of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Municipal Councillor Rakesh Pandita in Tral. He further asserted that visits will be allowed only after ground assessment of local threat has been conducted.

Terrorists misused mosques for attacks in J-K s Pampore, Sopore and Shopian: IGP Kashmir ANI | Updated: Apr 12, 2021 09:21 IST Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], April 12 (ANI): Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Monday informed that terrorists misused mosques for attacks here in Pampore, Sopore and Shopian. According to the IGP, terrorists misused mosques for attacks in Pampore on June 19, 2020, Sopore on July 1, 2020, and Shopian on April 9, 2021. Terrorists misused mosques for terror attacks in Pampore on June 19, 2020, Sopore on July 1, 2020, and Shopian on April 9, 2021. Public, Masjid Intizamia, civil societies and media should condemn such acts, he said. On April 9, a total of five terrorists were killed in an encounter with security in Shopian, where terrorists were holed up inside a mosque.

Terrorists involved in yesterday s attack on BJP leader, in which one policeman was martyred, have been killed. Police s weapon also recovered, Vijay Kumar told ANI. The senior police officer further said that three terrorists have been neutralised in an encounter in the Ghat Mollah area of Kakapora in Pulwama district. Three terrorists have been neutralised at a hideout in encounter in the Ghat Mollah area of Kakapora. Yesterday, we had shared that there were four terrorists, on the basis of an arrest, we got further information about the other 3 as well , said IGP Kashmir.

One hideout was busted in Anantnag forest by Police and Army after the arrest of conspirator of Krishna Dhaba attack, said Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone. The official said that three AK-56 rifles, two Chinese pistols, two Chinese grenades, one telescope, six AK magazines, two pistol magazines, and other items recovered from the hideout site.

Srinagar: Two militants who were trapped in an encounter in Lelhar area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district, which started on Friday, have surrendered before the government forces, officials said.
