Carmarthenshire chair's charity swim at Pendine

Carmarthenshire chair s charity swim at Pembrey THE Chair of Carmarthenshire County Council has fulfilled his promise to do a seaside swim to raise money for his two charities. Cllr Ieuan Davies had vowed to take part in the traditional Walrus Dip at Cefn Sidan beach on Boxing Day, but the event was cancelled due to Covid restrictions. Cllr Davies is fundraising for two charities close to his heart, Prostate Cancer and St Peter’s Church in Llanybydder. As well as the swim, he is also undertaking a sponsored walk and has so far walked over 60 miles.

Police find £14,000-worth of cannabis in Wiltshire man's shed

File image of cannabis buds Picture: PEXELS A CANNABIS warehouseman was caught with almost £14,000-worth of the class B drug in his garden shed, a court heard.  Ieuan Davies, who began smoking cannabis when he was 13 years old, told police he had been storing the drugs for a friend – who he did not name. The 29-year-old also admitted preparing the drugs for the anonymous friend by stripping leaves from the buds so the plants could be sold on the street.  Sentencing Davies to five months imprisonment suspended for 18 months, Judge Peter Crabtree said: “This was a serious offence in which a reasonable quantity of cannabis was left in your shed for safety reasons. You were entrusted with it and you played a part in preparing it for your friend to deal.
