Leftist Mayor of London Sadiq Khan unveiled a Black Lives Matter inspired ‘diversity’ commission on Tuesday, which will review all historical monuments in the British capital.
Mr Khan’s Commission for Diversity in the Public Realm, which is comprised of left-wing activists and celebrities, will seek to “improve diversity” in London, targeting statues, street names, memorials, and building names.
The stated intention of the group will be to determine what “legacies should be celebrated” and to increase representation among “Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, women, LGTBQ+ and disabled groups,” a press release from the mayor’s office said.

Black Lives Matter activists are targeting statues and other memorials to Captain James Cook, the great British explorer who charted much of Newfoundland, Australia, New Zealand, and Hawaii, for removal.
The Yorkshireman is one of many great Britons who had made his way on to the sprawling ‘Topple the Racists’ hit-list compiled by the already-out-of-date Stop Trump Coalition. Its targets have previously included the likes of Sir Francis Drake, the English mariner who defeated the Spanish Armada, and Earl Grey, the former prime minister who oversaw the abolition of slavery but is today most famous for the aromatic tea named in his honour.

A city council in the UK is set to remove the statue of a British war hero after a Black Lives Matter inspired review determined that he represent colonialism and does not represent women and so-called ‘gender non-binary’ people.
Following nationwide Black Lives Matter protests over the summer, the Exeter City Council established an ‘equality impact assessment’ to determine whether the statue honouring famed British general, Sir Redvers Buller should be removed.
The review found that General Buller’s statue would negatively impact anyone who “does not define themselves in binary gender terms,” according to the
Daily Mail.
“The General Buller statue represents the patriarchal structures of empire and colonialism which impact negatively on women and anyone who does not define themselves in binary gender terms,” the review stated.
