Oman sees decline in COVID-19 cases in intensive care units

Muscat: The total deaths since the beginning of May reached 117, with an average of 11.7 deaths per day, a social activist and data analyst said on the basis of data from the Ministry of Health, pointing to a significant increase in new deaths of coronavirus in the region.
Speaking exclusively to the Times of Oman, Ibrahim Al Maimani, a social activist and data analyst, ”There has been a continued decline in the existing cases, to reach 14,392 cases, corresponding to a continuous increase in the recoveries rate, which reached 91.8 per cent, where it was at the beginning of May, 90.3 per cent.

Muscat: The movement ban during Ramadan has helped bring down the number of daily COVID-19 cases in the Sultanate to less than 800 cases, a senior official of the Ministry of Health said.
With 770 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) registered in Oman on Wednesday, the total number of COVID-19 cases reached 198,572 in the Sultanate. While nine new deaths took the total number of COVID-19-related casualties to 2,071. With 1,372 new cases having recovered, the total number of recoveries has reached 180,547.
The Ministry also pointed out that 75 cases were hospitalised over the past 24 hours, adding that the total number of current hospitalised COVID-19-infected patients stands at 782, of whom 281 are in intensive care units (ICUs).
