Couple sells custom home for $10.5M on Palm Beach’s Ibis Isle

Real estate developer Michael Joseph and his wife, Roberta, have parted with the ultra-contemporary-style house they built for themselves on Ibis Isle’s lakefront in the South End of Palm Beach.
The sale price of the two-story house at 2288 Ibis Isle Road W. was reported Tuesday at $10.458 million in the local multiple listing service.
The deed was still making its way through the recording process Tuesday, so the buyer’s identity wasn’t yet known. It was also unclear if the price recorded in the MLS will match the one to be documented by the Palm Beach County Clerk’s office.
Historic site survey will aid town in preservation planning efforts
Surveyors looked at 2,240 potential historic structures within the town, and recorded 1,721 of them.

A months-long survey of historic structures within the town will be used to support preservation planning efforts and aid in future development, town officials said.
The firm presented its findings to the Town Council earlier this month. What we really wanted to be able to give the town of Palm Beach was a really great tool to use for preservation planning efforts moving forward, said Patricia Davenport-Jacobs, historic preservation manager for Environmental Sciences.

Susan Goldfein, who has lived with husband Larry in a waterfront home on Palm Beach’s Ibis Isle since 2008, recalls how finding and then buying the house was truly enlightening, to coin a phrase.
“When we first saw this house, I was attracted to the fact that it was on the water, which was sparkling, and its lightness it has so many windows and light is important to me. So, I talked Larry into it,” Susan says, summing up the experience.
Laughing, Larry adds: “Well, yes, she did talk me into it, but I saw the merits.”
