Dumped Ian Kirkham repeatedly punched the mother of his children to the face after hurling a brick through her window.
The 41-year-old climbed through the front window of her home before carrying out the 7am January attack.
It occured hours after Kirkham had sent her a do you love me? text. The woman had replied I don t love you anymore .
Now Kirkham, of Lincoln Avenue, Clayton, has been locked up for 27 months after admitting charges of burglary and assault.
