NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) The suspect in a deadly weekend stabbing in a Rhode Island convenience store was held without bail at his arraignment Monday.
Christopher Carbajal, 27, faces charges of murder, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in the death of Brian Cervini, 60, on Saturday afternoon at a North Providence Cumberland Farms store.
No defense attorney was listed in court records. Carbajal did not enter a plea and was referred to the public defender s office.
It does not appear the men knew each other and the motive remains unclear.
Carbajal entered the store to use the bathroom and minutes later Cervini walked in to make a coffee, police said in court.
