florida. central florida. we have a tornado watch. this line of storms is approaching the i-4 corridor. look at the lightning strikes with this, too. and this little, red poligon box here, that is a tornado. that complex is going to be moving over i-4 and into the orlando area over the next hour, hour and a half. this will not be a tornado outbreak where we saw 50 tornadoes reported. we could have isolated tornadoes this afternoon and the rest of the week in florida. blizzard warnings started monday night for areas outside of rapid city. and we re still under blizzard warnings throughout the day today. finally later on, it looks like the conditions are getting better. the snow is calming down but the wind is whipping it all over the place. and in the east, the sleet and the freezing rain is in place over west virginia, northern

obviously, we ve seen the imagings out of fort myers to the south. the rain, you see two little bull s eyes really in that i-4 corridor. up around daytona beach, about 2 feet of rain. same goes here just to the north of where the storm came on shore, there is some concern of potentially we re getting reports that are not confirmed, some reports saying there is potential wily some danger with one of the levees and some saying there s not. what we do know is that the myakka river there has crested at its all-time highest level, and it is expected to stay at at least above record level for about the next two days. florida s so flat, it takes a long time for water to re are recede out of there. want to show you the forecast other the next fife days, we re looking really good. plenty of sunshine to begin to dry things out. humidity levels a little bit lower and no chance of any precipitation. you ll notice also the overnight
experienced. where does this rank in terms of the hurricanes you ve monitored and seen? we have had a lot of impactful hurricanes over the last couple of years. but this one is really striking several densely populated centers. the storm surge came ashore down here, around fort myers, in naples. now the wind and flood potential is impacting tampa, orlando, jackson jacksonville, essentially the i-4 corridor. what accounts for a storm like this moving as slowly as this one is? we basically the steering currents, the atmosphere will push it along. if the steering currents slow down or there is not enough wind in the upper at upper atmosphere to push it along, it kind of slows down for the crawl, as is the case with this one. and we expect it will really strengthen once out over water
