Huron County will hold tornado drill on March 24 FacebookTwitterEmail Huron County Emergency Services will hold a tornado drill on March 24, where residents can prepare for how they will be safe in the event of a tornado. (Courtesy Photo/Associated Press) Huron County Emergency Services will conduct a tornado drill at 1 p.m. March 24, part of a statewide initiative. During the drill, tornado sirens across Huron County will be activated by local fire departments. A phone blast will also go out to schools, care facilities, parks, and government agencies. Should your local siren not function, the local authority in charge of that siren will notify 911 and work to resolve the issue. Emergency services will also identify which phones are either not working properly or are not associated with the facility on their list.

Huron County thanks our paramedics

The County of Huron is expressing their appreciation for their paramedics. In a news release, Warden Glen McNeil extended his heartfelt thanks to the Community Paramedicine Team adding they couldn’t have responded to the hurdles without them. This year, Huron County Emergency Services established a specialized Community Paramedicine Team that provides additional COVID-19 care support for the community. It consisted of five paramedics who received additional training, including palliative care education and works in 12-hour shifts, from 7:00AM to 7:00PM, seven days a week. The County thanked the paramedic team, and all frontline heroes, for the work they’re doing to prevent and slow the spread COVID-19.
