WACO, Texas (May 13, 2021) – Baylor University today announced a leadership gift to the Baylor Basketball Pavilion from Paula Hurd, marking progress on the Pavilion and surpassing a significant milestone for the Give Light Campaign. This gift pushes total gifts to Baylor through the Give Light Campaign over the impressive $1 billion mark, the most the University has ever raised during one campaign effort.
Paula’s gift will be recognized through the naming of the Mark and Paula Hurd Floor at the Baylor Basketball Pavilion, honoring Paula, who is a current member of Baylor’s Board of Regents, and her late husband, Baylor alumnus and former Baylor Regent Mark Hurd, B.B.A. ’79.
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The ninth-seeded Kansas women’s tennis team will take on eighth-seeded Kansas State in the opening day of the Big 12 Women’s Tennis Championship on Thursday, April 22 at 10 a.m. in Waco, Texas.
The Jayhawks finished the 2020-21 season with a 7-12 overall mark and are set to face a Wildcat team with seven wins and 11 losses. The two teams met twice during the regular season, splitting the series with one win each. Back on March 21, Kansas notched a 4-1 win over the visitors inside the Jayhawk Tennis Center. On April 3, Kansas State posted a redemptive but narrow victory of 4-3 in Manhattan.
