Twelve North Carolina football players in the class of 2021 signed their National Letters of Intent to play out their college careers in Raleigh for the NC State Wolfpack on Wednesday. Four of the state s top football programs each sent two members of their graduating classes to the Wolfpack: Richmond Senior, Hough, North Lincoln and East Forsyth. The Wolfpack s class is ranked No. 32 in the nation and No. 7 in the ACC by recruiting website 247sports.com. The two Richmond Raiders who will join the Pack are wide receiver Jakolbe Baldwin and offensive tackle Jaleel Davis. The two were a major part of Richmond s lethal offense and run of success in 2018 and 2019.

Gaston County's school district ranks first in credentials earned

Gaston County Schools continues to lead the state in Career and Technical Education, but the school district recently reached another milestone. Based on CTE data from the 2019-20 school year, Gaston County Schools not only achieved the highest number of credentials earned by students in North Carolina, but also achieved the highest percentage of students who earned more than one credential in a particular trade. It’s the first time a school district earned both top rankings in the same school year, according to the state Board of Education. In a nutshell, a credential represents a workforce skill that’s been mastered.
