TIC registers new investment projects worth over 2.28trn/-
SOME 151 new projects worth U$987 million (over 2.28trn/-) were registered by Tanzania Investment Centre for the period covering July last year and March 2021.

TIC’s Executive Director, Dr Maduhu Kazi said in Dar es Salaam mid this week that the projects which created an estimated 13,857 jobs include 51 worth U$451 million registered during the first quarter of this year.
Dr Kazi said the coronavurus outbreak affected the number of new investment projects as most of the world was under lockdown saying TIC had targeted to increase the volume to new record highs compared to the year before.

In the fifth-phase regime under the late president John Magufuli, Kidata served as in the TRA top post from December 2015 to March 2017 when he was appointed Permanent Secretary in the President’s Office
In Sunday’s appointment, President Samia Suluhu Hassan reinstated Kidata as TRA Commissioner General replacing Dr Edwin Mhede, who was appointed to head the tax body by the late Magufuli in June 2019.

Durban - THE Department of Education will receive the biggest portion of this year’s provincial budget, with the allocation set at R53.2 billion.
The second largest portion – R48.4bn – of the province’s public purse will go to the Department of Health. During her budget speech delivered yesterday, Finance MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube said she would ensure that the new Dr Pixley ka Isaka Seme Memorial Hospital was operational within this new financial year .
The Department of Transport, which underspent on its 2019/20 capital budget, will receive R11.6bn, the third largest allocation.
