JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A Jacksonville father is being mourned after his family said he gave his own life for his two children.
Larry Dupree, 31, was swimming in the water with two of his four kids when the Jacksonville Sheriff s Office said a rip current pulled the three individuals further out from shore around 1:45 pm on Sunday.
(Note: The video above was originally published May 21.) The City of Jacksonville says 44 people were rescued during red flag conditions at Jacksonville's Beaches over the weekend. The city tweeted photos of one rescue, thanking Jacksonville Beach Lifeguard Capt. Max Ervanian, along with two Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department firefighters who assisted in the rescue. The photos showed the three pulling a man from the rough surf on Saturday. A.

New York Public Library to expand reopening to include computer use, browsing shelves

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. The New York Public Library (NYPL) will expand its services when it enters the next phase of its reopening on May 10.
In this reopening phase, library patrons will be allowed to browse shelves for a select amount of time or schedule ahead to use computers. Patrons also can access the research collections by appointment.
The Staten Island branches that will be included in this phase are Huguenot Park, New Dorp, Todt Hill-Westerleigh, Stapleton, St. George Library Center and Richmondtown. Currently, these sites only are open for grab-and-go.
