Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital received an “A” grade in the Spring 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital’s efforts to protect patients from errors, injuries, and infections.
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade assigns a letter grade to all general hospitals across the country every six months and is the only ratings program based exclusively on hospitals’ prevention of medical errors and harm.

Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital has opened a new office for Endocrinology and Diabetes patients. A ribbon cutting and open house event was held on April 29 for the new office located at 360 Parkwood Dr., Elkin.
The practice, operated by Dr. Paul Gulley, MD and Shannon Hall, FNP-C, opened its doors on April 5.
