Wayne County Deputies responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on IL64. 23-year- old Allen Hempensones of Mt. Vernon was traveling along Interstate 64 near mile marker 106 when for unknown reasons he left the roadway, striking a guard rail, and popping a tire. There were no injuries. Wayne County responded to the scene of a car vs. deer collision. 39-year-old Fairfield resident Ryan Sagar was traveling westbound on IL Hwy 15 near Co. Rd 1400E when a deer ran into the roadway. Sagar was unable to avoid the collision causing damage to his vehicle. Local Arrests Illinois State Police arrested 38-year-old Mt. Vernon, IL resident Evan Boucher DeSoto, Mo on a charge of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail with bond set at $320. 32 year old Ashley Bebout of Crossville, was arrested by Wayne County on a Failure to Appear Contempt of Court warrant out of Richland County. Food establishment inspections

The Daviess County Health Department inspected the following food establishments in October and November: Graber Angus meats, 9258 E. 500 N.; noncritical violations — Food prep staff not wearing hair restraints; Observed meat sitting on table to thaw, not under refrigeration or running water. Gasthof Catering Trailer, 6659 E. Gasthof Village Road: critical violations — Coney sauce and hot dogs measured below 135 degrees in crock pot used for hot holding; No hand washing facilities were operational. Noncritical violations — Staff not wearing face coverings in accordance with governor’s executive orders; Some staff not wearing hair restraints.
