In the state of the union you have National Media do you have congress and its all about trying to score partisan points. But, in the state of the city its really talking to constituents, connecting with them about what youve done and about what you are going to do. I will tell you another place where we are uniquely situated. We see our constituents every day in Grocery Stores and in our places of worship and in everyday areas like the ywca and sometimes they just show up at city hall, whether they have an appointment or not because they want to talk to the mayor. Guess what . We talked because that is what mayors and what city leaders do. This year i gave my eight state of the city address. The jobs housing balance were trying to achieve weve always been working on. Weve been successful in trying to address the Workforce Housing and other type of Housing Units needed within our community. Theres not you have recognition. Thats why were really excited to be able to work with them. As local leaders, its important for us to echo what were already doing in terms of building the critical infrastructures and not just have state policies that come down and supersede and take over the local feedback and decisionmaking. Care and control every weekend for four months straight to search for the perfect dog for him. In that process, i saw the facility firsthand at a. C. C. , and it was heartbreaking to me, and then of course, working in the city took additional tours and learned that theres not enough space for animals being quarantined when some of them have diseases or illnesses. I mean i saw that animals had to be strapped to some of the banisters as they are doing intake, the elevator, i mean, dont even talk about that. Just the conditions that the employees had to work in where animals need to get xrays as well, and there was improper shielding of the radiation in those rooms, so it is not just about the animals, but all the people who work at animal care and control and those conditions i think the conditions are really sad, and im so excited that we are standing here today to hopefully, and a very short amount of time, you will have a new building.
