Chelsea Supporters’ Trust said it would demand answers to the “unforgivable” proposals.
“Our members and football supporters across the world have experienced the ultimate betrayal,” read the group’s statement.
“This is a decision of greed to line the pockets of those at the top and it has been made with no consideration for the loyal supporters, our history, our future or the future of football in this country.
“This is unforgivable. Enough is enough.”
Liverpool supporters’ group Spirit of Shankly denounced the decision of US-based owner Fenway Sports Group (FSG), stating the club is “ours not theirs”.
“Embarrassing as fan representatives we are appalled and completely oppose this decision,” read a statement on Twitter.

Football clubs who have agreed to join a European Super League “must answer to their fans” before going ahead with the “very damaging” change, the Prime Minister has said.
Boris Johnson posted his views on Twitter on Sunday evening, criticising the prospect of six English clubs possibly joining a breakaway continental league.
“Plans for a European Super League would be very damaging for football and we support football authorities in taking action,” said Mr Johnson.

Fans of the six Premier League clubs leading the breakaway European Super League have slammed the controversial plan, branding it the “ultimate betrayal”.
Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham are all involved in the new league, alongside Spanish trio Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Italian clubs Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan.
The founding clubs will share 3.5 billion euros for infrastructure investment and to offset coronavirus pandemic costs.
