B-25 will be available for tours at Hoosier Aviation this week

This will be the second WWII aircraft that Hoosier Aviation will host in the last week. “We’re excited to welcome the second war bird in a weeks time to Hoosier Aviation,” says Nicole Brown, Owner of Hoosier Aviation. “We’re excited to have them in our community and to keep that piece of history alive.” The B-25 is famous for its ability to bomb at high and low altitudes. The ability to bomb submarines was key to winning WWII.

After a weather delay, the Allied liberation of Western Europe from Nazi Germany’s control began shortly after midnight along the heavily fortified coast of France’s Normandy Tuesday, June 6, 1944. More than 13,000 American, British and Canadian paratroopers were dropped behind enemy lines during Operation Overlord (codename for the Battle of Normandy). Many soldiers, young men 17-19 years old, went into battle to confuse the German forces.
