While Hong Kong s restaurant industry adjusts to convoluted new government regulations, chef Shane Osborn is already looking ahead with the announcement of The Arcane Collective, a new restaurant group that his original claim to fame, Arcane, and sister restaurant Cornerstone will fall under as well as a third restaurant expected to open in Landmark later this summer.
Styled as a collection of independently-minded restaurants , The Arcane Collective will incorporate several principles formulated over Arcane s six years of operation. These include unpretentious, ingredient-driven cuisine, a forward-looking culture, socially and environmentally-aware conduct, empowering talent and championing creativity.

Last September, I went to my first lunch in months when Laetitia Yu and I took our friend Yuda Chan out for her birthday. Yu organised a wonderful set lunch at Petrus of crab, veal cheek with asparagus and a cheese board to finish. With the Island Shangri-La’s spectacular views, it made for a relaxing environment for a four-hour meal and catch-up.

As the only black-tie dinner that was able to go ahead in 2020, the First Initiative Foundation’s fundraising gala at the Hong Kong Museum of Art was a huge highlight. My friend Michelle Ong worked tirelessly to host a truly incredible night, which was themed “everlasting wonder”.
It’s no secret that Wing Nin Noodle has been a fixture in Hong Kong’s dining scene since its establishment in the 1950s.
