Guerrilla warfare in africa, likewise, and expanded infrastructure with roads and railways. But nowhere was the concentration of forces so great behind the western front. Where the stalemate in seward ecological upheaval. Here is a image of french soldiers, and maybe you could barely make them out there. Struggling across no mans land. Scenes like this of utter devastation ruined landscapes that were pitted and cracked with craters and trenches. Quickly became a metaphor for the great wars waste. Opposing forces on the western front fired over 1 billion shells at each other. Now these relics formed this lethal substratum of soil and are in fact slowly date making their way back to the surface. It is pretty typical for farmers to unearth these relics. Many of which are still dangerous. Still explosive. And what they will do is they will collect them and simply set them by the side of the road. And there are Government Agencies and minors who come by and pick them up. I had the chance to
