The Mizoram government is awaiting financial assistance from the Centre to provide shelter to more than 12,600 people who fled from ethnic violence in neighbouring Manipur earlier this year. The Chief Minister of Mizoram had requested an immediate relief package in May, however, no funds have yet been received from the Centre.
