The highest court in New York, the Court of Appeals, turned down a request to hear the case against the unconstitutional Assembly district maps that the Legislature drew. A Manhattan appellate bench Friday unanimously voided the maps, but said that new lines would have to wait two years and the illegal crooked lines favoring incumbents now in place would stay for the June 28 primary.
