Tourism Minister the Hon. Charles Fernandez has taken a firm stance in the wake of actions of a major hotel property which hosted a recent party event involving a major international pop star.
Minister Fernandez, in a statement from his Ministry, says he will give full support to the health authorities and Legal Affairs in conducting a full investigation into the incident and to take any actions that they deem necessary.
He also says he will be seeking an audience with the Management of Hodges Bay Resort & Spa, as well as the Antigua and Barbuda Hotels & Tourism Association
Minister Fernandez says this type of risky behavior sends the wrong message to the local community and threatens to destroy the gains of the health authorities and tourism stakeholders in keeping Covid 19 at bay.
Although they appeared to play it fast and loose with precautions, Williams shared a video to her Instagram Story of them getting their required COVID tests to reenter the United States.
