UF Health workers can get special discounts at Historic Springfield businesses for UF Health Week

UF Health Week is taking place May 10 through 14, coinciding with National Hospital Week, and workers can head to the Springfield Historic District to celebrate with discounts and incentives.
Springfield Preservation and Revitalization is partnering with local businesses to host UF Health Week. The third largest employer in the city, UF Health employees are being honored by SPAR and welcomed to explore the area s unique businesses.
Historic Springfield paints crosswalks to improve pedestrian safety

The goal of the project is to get drivers to draw attention to the colorful designs, resulting in more vigilance from drivers.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The crosswalks at two intersections in Historic Springfield are painted with colorful designs. The intersections of East 3rd and Hubbard Street and East 7th and Hubbard Street were painted by local artist, David Nackashi.
“We are super excited about our crosswalks,” said Kelly Rich, Executive Director of SPAR. “Historic Springfield has been fighting a lot of speeding and several issues that have created some pedestrian safety issues.”

JACKSONVILLE, Fla Get ready to bring the funk on Sunday in Springfield.
Alberi, an open-air venue located at 1819 North Main St. in Historic Springfield, is hosting its second event Sunday from 11 a.m. to sundown. Funk N Brunch will feature live art, funky tunes, brunch bites and mimosas.
Entertainment will feature live drums, horns and acoustics integrated with house and disco tracks, according to Alberi s Instagram. DJ Papi Disco, DJ Joey Funk and DJ JB Dizzy will spin atop the venue s boom truck-turned-DJ booth.
Food vendors include Khloe s Kitchen, Nature s Drip, Classic Cookies, Chop It Charlie Jax and Greedy Little Pig, with brunch fare ranging from breakfast tacos and short rib hash to vegan donuts and coffee. Bread and Board will supply the event s mimosa bar featuring fresh-pressed orange juice, with a full bar offering spirits by Manifest Distilling.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla Personal trainer and fitness expert Ryan McGriff never thought he would be training all women.
“I worked with college football players. I ve worked with NFL players,” McGriff said. “I ve worked with Orlando Magic a few times, a few basketball players there as well, one-on-one training in the off-seasons.”
But that all changed eight years ago when McGriff’s mother, JoAnn, died at the age of 51.
