As downtown music venues begin reopening for spring and summer, one has chosen to make a significant, and welcome, commitment to the thriving local hip-hop scene.
Starting June 2, Live Wire Athens and ATHfactor-Liberty Entertainment will present Hip-Hop Pit Stop, a month-long residency scheduled every Wednesday night from 8 to 11 p.m..
Each program will include an open mic segment, guest DJ sets and vendor tables, and will conclude with a 90-minute performance featuring artists from independent hip-hop record labels. This event will allow the Athens music community to network, dance, and celebrate independent hip-hop artists of many different styles, said Montu Miller, CEO of ATHfactor-Liberty Entertainment and ambassador of Athens hip-hop.
