THREE people and two dogs were rescued after getting cut off by the tide in Southampton Water. The casualties were pinned against a sea wall at Netley and were standing in about 2ft of water when help arrived. They were rescued by Hill Head Coastguard Rescue Team as Hamble Lifeboat provided safety cover. One of the casualties was checked over for shock and early signs of hypothermia. Posting on social media the rescue team said: Tasked to assist persons cut off by the tide in Netley.

Rescue teams went to the aid of a ;person trapped in waist-deep mud. Picture: Hamble Lifeboat. RESCUE teams rushed to the aid of a man trapped in waist-deep mud on the banks of the River Hamble. Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service mobilised crews from Hightown and Redbridge, plus the water rescue team from Fareham. Coastguards and Hamble Lifeboat also took part in the rescue, which last almost two hours. Writing on social media the lifeboat crew said: Hamble Lifeboat were tasked to a multi-agency response along with Hill Head Coastguard Rescue Team and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service to rescue a person stuck in waist-deep mud at Manor Farm Country Park.
